Benefits

MMI

Over the years, the MMI has both flourished and struggled on its own, but at all times, they have strived to promote and encourage masonry to the Manitoba Construction Industry and all those involved. Our local masonry contractors have direct contact with many suppliers and manufacturers of masonry products and accessories in the province. With this in mind, we want to offer you the opportunity to join and support a progressive and rejuvenated MMI organization involved in Manitoba's construction industry.

As an associate member of the MMI, your firm will be assisting the masonry industry in promoting their trade to architects, owners, designers and students in Manitoba. It will aid them in promoting masonry and construction to a new generation of employees so as to keep the trade strong and growing. Your support is needed to achieve these goals and it will be appreciated.

Some of the upcoming MMI activities are:

With membership, we offer a yearly trade newsletter, the Troweller, to keep you informed of local and national happenings in masonry and construction. You will have the opportunity to support this project through advertising to trades and the professional.
- Once a year, you will be invited to participate in an education program promoting masonry and related products to the local architectural and engineering fraternity.
- Your company name and products will be linked to the MMI website. You will be informed of all functions from open forums to golf tournaments by letter or eMail.

MMCA

Full membership with the MMCA gives benefits of CMCA, CMDC and the MMI. CMDC is an organization that helps contractors "connect" with engineers through their advice and through education of both contractors and engineers on proper masonry construction practices and designs.

It furthermore assists masonry contractors by providing services of a professional engineer in cases of disputes where contractors feel they are unfairly branded in their performance on a project (ie: Unreasonable requirements of design, etc.)

Last but not least, contractors can look for assistance from the CMDC in their efforts to convert projects to masonry from other proposed construction methods.
